While this pandemic has altered what society looks like right now, in many ways we are more resilient than we ever were before this happened. During this long shutdown, I am sure all of us have reflected on what is meaningful to us, we may have learnt new hobbies, re-learnt to take care of ourselves, built stronger social bonds despite social distancing that is currently in place.

One component of self care is medical care and on that front I want to tell you that I am here for you , I am doing both in-person and teledermatology (video conference) appointments. As you know that my niche is not just dermatology but also complex medical dermatology and rheum-derm with a focus on autoimmune diseases and these diseases need regular follow up which should not stop despite restrictions in place as a result of this pandemic.

I am happy to announce that we at Mount Sinai Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Department of Dermatology, are implementing all appropriate safety measures to ensure comfortable in-person appointments, which are optimal for many conditions difficult to evaluate through a video conference. Simultaneously, I highly encourage teledermatology for follow ups and refills. It is also a good way to respect social distancing and be safe.

 

To make a teledermatology or in-person appointment, please call 212-241-9728. You can also request one directly via the MyChart app. For most providers teledermatology visits require MyChart to be downloaded on your cellular device (iPhone or Android), NOT on a tablet or computer.
