About Dr. Khattri
Saakshi Khattri M.D., is the Director of Center for Connective Tissue Diseases at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
She is a triple board certified Internist, Rheumatologist and
Dermatologist and one of only a handful of such physicians across the United States.
Dr. Khattri received her medical degree from Delhi University (Maulana Azad Medical College) in New Delhi, India. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency from Staten Island University Hospital/Northwell Health and completed a Rheumatology Fellowship from Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center.
After the completion of her fellowship, she worked as a post-doctoral fellow in the Laboratory of Investigative Dermatology for 2 years, under the mentor-ship of Dr. James Krueger and Dr. Emma Guttman where she conducted clinical trials in Atopic Dermatitis and Psoriasis.
She then went on to complete a Dermatology Residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where she was Chief Resident in her final year of training. After the completion of her Dermatology Residency she stayed on as Assistant Professor in the Dermatology Department at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Khattri’s area of interest is autoimmune, inflammatory, immunobullous skin diseases, complex medical dermatology and conditions with rheum-derm overlap.
Within a span of 2 years she was able to establish a clinic that focuses on diseases with rheum-derm overlap and was recently named the Director of their newly launched Center for Connective Tissue Diseases.
Dr. Khattri has published extensively in peer reviewed journals and given lectures at regional and national conferences. In addition she is passionate about medical education and lectures residents and fellows both at her institution as well as other institutions within New York City.
